How to get to Caminito del Rey from Álora?
1. Parking near the entrance to Caminito de Rey (Ardales)
Regulated municipal parking (P1) (2 euros). From this point to the entrance to Caminito del Rey, there is a path through a lit tunnel (1.5 km) and another next to the Kiosko restaurant (2.7 km). The estimated time to reach Caminito del Rey is 20-35 minutes, respectively. Once you have finished Caminito del Rey (approximately 1:30-2:00 hours), in the El Chorro neighborhood (Álora), you can return the protective helmet provided by the organizers. 300 meters away is the shuttle bus stop (a service not operated by Caminito del Rey).
2. Parking near the El Chorro exit (Álora)
In this case, we recommend parking at least one hour in advance. This parking lot (P2) is currently being renovated, but is fully operational right at the entrance to the neighborhood after passing the Tajo de la Encantada dam. The shuttle bus stop is 300 meters away.
On the train platform. From this point to the entrance to Caminito del Rey, there is a path through a lighted tunnel (1.5 km) and another next to the El Kiosko restaurant (2.7 km). The estimated time to reach the entrance to Caminito del Rey is 20 and 35 minutes, respectively.
Once you have finished the Caminito del Rey (approximately 1:30-2:00 hours), in the El Chorro neighborhood (Álora), you return the protective helmet provided by the organization and your vehicle will be located nearby.
3. Parking in the Parking Lot (P) of the Visitor Reception Center (2 euros/day)
In this case, we recommend that you park in this parking lot at least one hour in advance.

There you will find the shuttle bus stop (a service not operated by Caminito del Rey). Once you have finished the Caminito del Rey (approximately 1:30-2:00 a.m.), in the El Chorro neighborhood (Álora), you can return the protective helmet provided by the organizers. The single bus ticket allows you free travel both ways as many times as you need on the day of your visit. The cost is 2.50 euros per person (not included in the ticket price) and can be purchased on our website (you must download your ticket again) or directly upon arrival, paying in cash to the driver. CARD PAYMENT IS NOT ACCEPTED.
The service is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The journey takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to reach the stop near El Kiosko Restaurant.

Mandatory operating rules
1. To visit the Caminito del Rey, it will be mandatory to possess the corresponding ticket, which includes the date and time of the visit. This ticket is also necessary to exit the area. Access will always be, unless authorized otherwise, from the north (Ardales) to ensure visitors always descend.
2. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and must verify their age with ID card, passport, or family book.
3. The ticket holder will benefit from a civil liability insurance covering any incidents occurring during the visit from entry to exit of the walkways, provided the incident is not due to non-compliance with established rules or solely the visitor's fault.
4. Visitors with reservations must arrive at the chosen access area at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time on the reservation receipt, to organize visitor groups.
5. Visitors with valid tickets will directly access the walkways from the north entrance. Access is only permitted through designated areas; entry from any other part of the route, especially railway tracks, is strictly prohibited. The Provincial Council and the managing entity disclaim any responsibility for incidents resulting from unauthorized access.
6. Visitors must correctly wear any safety equipment provided upon entry.
7. Pedestrian traffic must always keep to the right, especially on the walkways. Extreme caution must be taken when passing others to avoid endangering those near the guardrails overlooking the gorge.
8. All visitors to the Caminito del Rey and the Gaitanes Gorge Natural Site must comply with these rules and any other environmental regulations enforced by the relevant regional authority. Given that the visit takes place in a protected natural area with narrow walkways at significant heights, certain general prohibitions must be observed:
a) Inappropriate footwear for hiking is strictly prohibited (flip-flops, high heels, or any footwear not suitable for this activity that may cause ankle injuries or falls), as is wearing seasonally inappropriate clothing.
b) Carrying children or individuals, regardless of age, on the walkways is prohibited.
c) Using harnesses or any attachment to the safety cable on the walkways, as these may obstruct passage and endanger other visitors, potentially leading to falls.
d) Carrying backpacks, bags, purses, or any other bulky items. The use of selfie sticks, walking sticks, and crutches is also prohibited.
e) Not correctly using provided safety equipment indicated at the walkway entrance.
f) Using umbrellas in case of rain; the use of raincoats or similar attire is mandatory if necessary.
g) Littering or dumping waste.
h) Starting fires.
i) Smoking any substances.
j) Consuming alcoholic beverages or any food not included in the recommended list (water, energy drinks, chocolate bars, energy bars, nuts, and fruits).
k) Using tripods or any equipment that obstructs the smooth passage of other visitors to photograph or record.
l) Using drones or similar devices without explicit authorization from the competent regional environmental authority, due to the area's significant bird population.
m) Bringing animals into the area.
n) Swimming in the river or its pools.
o) Entering the tunnels of the canals.
p) Leaving the designated path in the Valle del Hoyo area (risk of rockfalls).
q) Uprooting plants or parts thereof.
r) Shouting or playing loud music.
s) Undressing, removing footwear, or lying down in the area.
t) Damaging rocks and other geological features, including fossils.
u) Graffiti or any type of inscription on natural or artificial elements.
v) Scattering ashes of deceased individuals.
w) Bringing baby strollers or similar, wheelchairs, or any accessory that may hinder evacuation.
x) Accessing the site with children under 8 years old.
y) Selling, reselling, or counterfeiting tickets (reservations).
Visitors are obligated to strictly adhere to these Usage Rules, as well as any additional directives issued by responsible personnel due to unforeseen circumstances. Compliance with the rules and instructions of Control and Information personnel, as well as Security personnel, is mandatory upon entry and throughout the visit. Extreme caution should be exercised to prevent falls and to assist with site cleanliness. Non-compliance with these rules empowers responsible personnel or authorities to expel offenders. The company reserves the right to temporarily close, restrict, or suspend visits, including access hours and days, for reasons of safety, conservation, maintenance work, weather conditions, or force majeure, with the possibility of changing the visit date within a 2-month period, subject to availability. No other circumstances qualify for ticket refunds or exchanges. Orders and recommendations from Caminito management, Environmental Agents, or state security forces must be strictly followed at all times. The ticket holder accepts each and every one of the "Regulations for Public Use of the Caminito del Rey."
Mandatory operating rules
1. Para visitar el Caminito del Rey será requisito obligatorio estar en posesión de la correspondiente entrada, que incluirá el día y la hora de la visita, además ésta es necesaria para poder salir del mismo. El acceso siempre será, salvo autorización, por la zona norte (por Ardales) al objeto de que el visitante siempre lo haga en descenso.
2. Los visitantes menores deberán ir acompañados de un adulto y deberán acreditar su edad con su DNI, pasaporte o libro de familia.
3. La persona portadora de la entrada será beneficiaria de un seguro de responsabilidad civil que cubrirá cualquier contingencia ocurrida en la visita desde la entrada a las pasarelas hasta la salida de las mismas, pero siempre que dicha contingencia no se haya producido por incumplimiento de las normas establecidas, o por culpa exclusiva de la persona visitante.
4. Las personas visitantes con reserva deben llegar al área de acceso elegida al menos con 30 minutos de antelación respecto del horario indicado en el resguardo de la reserva para la visita, al objeto de organizar los grupos de visitas.
5. Las personas visitantes que cuenten con la correspondiente entrada accederán directamente a las pasarelas por el acceso norte. Sólo podrá accederse por los lugares que están habilitados, quedando totalmente prohibida la entrada y acceso al mismo por cualquier otro lugar del recorrido, especialmente por las vías del tren, quedando exonerada tanto la Diputación Provincial como la entidad que pueda gestionar el equipamiento de toda responsabilidad que pudiera derivarse a través de cualquier acceso prohibido.
6. Las personas visitantes están obligadas a llevar colocados correctamente los elementos de seguridad que, en su caso, se les faciliten en la entrada.
7. La circulación de las personas será siempre por la derecha, norma que debe observarse fundamentalmente en las pasarelas. Cuando se adelante en las mismas, deberá tenerse una precaución máxima al objeto de evitar poner en peligro a quien se sitúe en la barandilla junto al desfiladero.
8. Todas las personas que accedan al Caminito del Rey, y por tanto al Paraje Natural Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, deberán observar las presentes normas así como todas las exigibles en este ámbito por la consejería competente en materia de medio ambiente. Dado que la visita transcurre por un espacio natural protegido y con pasos estrechos a gran altura, en especial sus pasarelas, y al objeto conservar los valores naturales del lugar y evitar poner en peligro su propia seguridad y la de los otros visitantes,
deben observarse las siguientes prohibiciones con carácter general:a) Utilizar calzado inadecuado para el senderismo (quedando totalmente prohibido usar chanclas, zapatos de tacón o cualquier otro que no sea adecuado a esta actividad o que pueda generar lesiones en tobillos o caídas) y llevar ropa inapropiada a la temporada en que se realice el recorrido.
b) Coger en brazos en cualquier tramo de las pasarelas a los/as niños/as o personas sea cual sea su edad.
c) Utilizar un arnés o cualquier elemento de sujeción a la “línea de vida” (cable) que se sitúa en las pasarelas, al ser un obstáculo que cruza la pasarela y puede poner en peligro a demás visitantes, pudiendo provocar caídas al vacío.
d) Portar mochilas, bolsas o bolsos o cualquier otro material transportable voluminoso. Asimismo queda prohibido el uso de “palos selfie”, bastones y muleta
e) No utilizar correctamente los elementos de seguridad que, en su caso, se suministren o indiquen en el acceso a las pasarelas.
f) Utilizar paraguas en caso de lluvia. Es obligatorio, en su caso, el uso de chubasquero o similar.
g) Abandonar o tirar basura.
h) Encender fuego.
i) Fumar cualquier tipo de sustancia.
j) Ingerir bebidas alcohólicas y cualquier alimento que no esté contenido en el apartado recomendaciones (agua, bebida energética, chocolatinas, barritas energéticas, frutos secos y fruta).
k) Fotografiar o grabar con trípode o cualquier otro elemento que pueda obstaculizar el paso fluido del resto de visitantes.
l) Usar drones o aparatos similares, salvo autorización expresa por parte de la Consejería competente en materia de medio ambiente, al atravesarse un Paraje Natural con una importante comunidad de aves.
m) Acceder a este espacio en compañía de animales.
n) Bañarse en el río o en sus charcas.
o) Entrar en los túneles de los canales.
p) Salirse del sendero habilitado en la zona del Valle del Hoyo (riesgo de provocar desprendimientos).
q) Arrancar plantas o parte de ellas.
r) Gritar o escuchar música con volumen alto.
s) Desvestirse, descalzarse o tumbarse en este espacio.
t) Dañar las rocas y otros elementos geológicos, tales como fósiles.
u) Realizar pintadas o cualquier tipo de inscripción, tanto en elementos naturales como artificiales.
v) Esparcir cenizas de difuntos.
w) Acceder con carro de bebé o similar, o con sillas de rueda o con cualquier accesorio que pudiera dificultar una posible evacuación.
x) Acceder al recinto con niñas/os menores de 8 años.
y) Vender y revender entradas (reservas) o sus falsificaciones.
Los visitantes están obligados al cumplimiento exacto de estas Normas de Uso así como a las que en atención a circunstancia sobrevenida, imprevista o no, deban adoptarse por el personal responsable:
✔ En los accesos al recinto y durante la visita deberán respetarse las normas e indicaciones del personal de Control e Información así como del de Seguridad. Deben extremarse las precauciones
para evitar caídas, así como colaborar con la limpieza del recinto.
✔ La inobservancia de las anteriores normas facultará al personal responsable o autoridad para la expulsión de quién las infrinja.
✔ La empresa se reserva la facultad de clausurar, limitar y/o suspender temporalmente la visita, incluso en horario y días de acceso, por motivos de seguridad, conservación, ejecución de obras de reparación, meteorológicos y causas de fuerza mayor, pudiendo cambiar la fecha de la visita dentro del plazo de 2 meses. Este cambio estará siempre sujeto a disponibilidad. No se
contemplarán otros supuestos para el reembolso o cambio de las entradas.
✔ Serán en todo caso obligatorias las órdenes y/o recomendaciones que en todo momento deriven del personal que gestiona el Caminito, Agentes de Medio Ambiente o cuerpos de la seguridad del
estado.
